CRANES Fuse (1986 UK 'private pressing' 7 track cassette with picture
sleeve)

In 1986 Portsmouth gave birth to one of the most underrated acts of all
time, Cranes. This is where it all began, the beginning of time. The
raw gothic angst and mysterious hypnotic music, coupled with the
otherworldly vocals from Alison Shaw guaranteed the band entry into
underground folk law, and the following debut EP along with their early
to mid nineties output are all mysterious works of art which each owed
a lot to these early recordings.

This extremely limited seven track cassette was the official birth of
the band, and the title track Fuse would go on to be used in the bands
debut EP release, Self Non Self. With the advent of modern technology
this album has been made available (unofficially) on other mediums, but
I still harbour hopes of an official re-release one day
