Just plain magical: the successful dark wave band's eleventh
album. No other band in the German-speaking alternative and
dark wave scene polarizes as much as Illuminate does. Johannes
Berthold's troupe is either praised to the heavens or torn apart
as "schlager".

Illuminate succeeds in combining classical elements, danceable
rhythms, electronic sound collages, romantic piano passages, and
heavy guitars and turning all this into their own typical sound.
After ten studio albums and a total of approx. 200,000 sold
records, the band is among Germany's most successful dark wave
acts.

"Zeit der Woelfe" is a concept album based on fairy tales and
symbolism and is definitely one of Illuminate's saddest and most
contemplative works ever. Rocking moments, piano ballads, lavish
sound collages, and unusual orchestrating will make their fans'
hearts beat faster. And not only that: even sceptics will not be
able to deny that "Zeit der Woelfe" has a fresh and
unconventional flair. It's just plain magical!
