Angstschrei is Gottesfinsternis debut album released on Pandaimonium Records. Being a Pandaimonium Records release by a band named Gottesfinsternis complete with a fitting album cover told me that I was to expect another stock of the trade darkwave album, and I am glad to say that this wasn’t the case. Gottesfinsternis plays dark wave, but with a lot of electronic influences, from time to time they sound a lot like Das Ich.

The album contains thirteen tracks, ranging from slow moodier darkwave pieces to faster EBM sounding ones (Sie Marschieren Wieder makes me think of DAF), that would get me dancing if I happened to catch them on the dance floor. The vocals are all in German, which is fitting for the genre even if it makes the music less original. Overall this is an ok record, and fans of Das Ich should probably give it a closer listen.
