3 years in the making, Atrium Carceri is back with another
After careful psychological observeration of test listeners,
Simon Heath has done it again - renewing the genre through
careful planning and painstaking attention to each fragment and
detail, however minute. With fresh atmospheres, and a depth
previously unfathomable, Souyuan will amaze initiates and
pundits alike with its complexity and pureness of form. Never
before has the artists innermost recesses been so sublimely
conveyed to any medium.
Simon, born in 1977, started producing when he early on played
around with his Amiga and a microphone. In the years that have
followed, Simon got involved in numerous projects and developed
his knowledge and skills. During the process and through the
years, he has been part of writing 16 albums and additionally
many other tracks on compilations and other albums, released
under various names, touching a broad range of ambient, dub,
IDM, psy, folk, medieval, classical and black ambient. Simon is
known for having reached a very high level both in story telling
and production technique.
Atrium Carceri has been praised by music critics and embraced by
a cult audience for its depth of atmosphere. As described by one
reviewer, "Heath creates a world where time collapses, where the
ancient world of conjured spirits, the physical limitations of
being all too human, and the infinite outreach of potential
futuretech, all coexist.

Ah Cama-Sotz - Declaration o Innocence (Ltd. Edition) (2008)
GENRE..... Dark Ambient, Industrial, Electro
LABEL...... Bats & Cats
MODE....... VBRkbps / Joint-Stereo
REL.DATE.. Oct-20-2008
Limited numbered edition of 500 copies in a metal box!
Exactly one year after the highly acclaimed 'Dead Cities' the
man who we know better as Ah Cama-Sotz (Batman to his friends)
presents a new album on his own Bats and Cats label. Hidden
inside a metal CD-case lies the 'Declaration of Innocence',
guarded by the characteristic circular logo of the Bat.
In ten tracks Ah Cama-Sotz tells the story of a journey - how
your soul is transported into another dimension. Events on this
journey involve a certain 'Sacrifice' as instructed by 'Voices
from the Dark', a visit to 'Warszawa' and - albeit from a
distance - watch the 'Decline of the Roman Empire'.
And like a true journey, the view out of the window is gorgeous.
Varied and dynamic as we have gotten to know the talent of our
tour-conductor. There are moments of deep dub with heavily
distorted guitars, ambient neo-classical soundscapes, Arabian,
as well as ritualistic influences. And the additional vocals of
Fleur Pierets turn the rockiest mountain into the garden of eden
...
With 'Declaration of innocence' Ah Cama-Sotz succeeds again in
delivering an album which completely f*cks up the inside of your
head and therefore changes your perspective of a world filled
with blood, guilt, sin and innocence.

V:28 - Total ReConstruction (2008)
GENRE..... Industrial, Noise, Ambient, Dark Ambient, Experimental
LABEL...... Cold Meat Industry
MODE....... VBRkbps / Joint-Stereo
REL.DATE.. Oct-16-2008
Founded on a prophecy about the downfall of humanity and the end
of the world, the Norwegian industrial death metal band V:28 set
out on a musical journey through a world in turmoil. Their three
albums, NonAnthropogenic, SoulSaviour and VioLution released by
Vendlus Records, constitute the Total Deconstruction trilogy,
where the band dug far into the dark matter of the human mind in
search for the ultimate apocalypse. The burning desire to
explore new musical territories lead to a multitude of
interesting collaborations and approaches within the extreme
metal genre. As a result, V:28 has in many ways been a
groundbreaking act in their field.
The idea of doing a remix album was spawned at an early stage in
the band's existence. Carefully selected artists were invited to
use V:28 source material to make their own interpretation of a
chosen track. Not only does this release mark the end of the
band, but it also showcases the experimental side of the band
and much of what has been a great source of inspiration for the
cinematic and apocalyptic sound of V:28. - The Total
Reconstruction was born!
With the founding member of V:28 being a huge fan of CMI and
with many CMI acts covering the V:28 tracks in fantastic new
versions there was no discussion which label would be more
suited releasing this obscure sampler than Cold Meat Industry.

Alio Die - Aura Seminalis (2008)
GENRE..... Dark Ambient
LABEL...... Hic Sunt Leones
MODE....... VBRkbps / Joint-Stereo
REL.DATE.. Sep-24-2008
This latest release in a recent outpouring of creativity from Italy's master of organic drones is possibly the most unique in this artist's long career as a sound sculptor. While most of his recent releases on his own Hic Sunt Leones label have been collaborations, this is his first solo effort since the release of the 10 inch vinyl Aurea Hora. As the elaborate Renaissance style artwork on the cover suggests, this music points in the direction of a more "classical" sound insofar as the utilization of Gregorian style chants. These are successfully incorporated into Musso's customary drones comprised of field recordings, acoustic instruments, and electronic processing, giving this disc a particularly reverent ambience. Don't think Enigma or Delerium, because as one listens to this they may be inclined to bow their head and meditate or pray rather than nod or chill. I imagine that if today's sound recording abilities were available during those times evoked by the artwork or chants, they too would have then added the organic elements that Alio Die does, creating a balance of both the heavenly and the earthbound. Fans of his music may or may not find this approach a departure from what they are accustomed to, but it is certain that this artist is going beyond his previous huge body of work to encompass a broader sonic pallette.
